Unofficial Officiant

By Denise W., October 1, 2020 — It started quite by half chance, that my older aunts as they got older, they didn’t go back to church or be part of service that they knew officiants, so I became the officiant. So I actually did all of the services for my aunt in a program which I won’t read, but except for [when] my brother spoke at remarks, I did the prayer, mostly all of them in other words. So I’m the designated person that does funerals in my family if they want me. Even though my background is Christian, I’ve done a funeral in which the family was Atheist. I’ve done Agnostic [funerals too]. I acknowledge, I mean I respect all the faiths. I’m not going to be staunch on my beliefs because that’s the beauty of this country, freedom of religion. Freedom of no religion.
