The Six Year Olds

By Stroud, October 21, 2014 — Having my grandchildren with me can sometimes be hilarious.

We were at the swimming pool because I was teaching them how to swim. Before their lessons began I needed to take my morning aquatics class, so I sat them on the side of the pool to wait until I finished. They immediately began to count the participants of the class as they walked in. One old lady, another old lady, and then an old man, that’s three so far. When they got to number 13 they said, “All old people,” and that’s why we had to wait.

When we finished with swim lessons they were hungry. One granddaughter asked did I have anything in my purse. I gave her a peppermint. The other asked her cousin, “What did granny give you?” She replied, “A piece of old people’s candy,” and she said, “I need one too.”
