The New Future of Neurology

By Michael Tseui, May 23, 2019 — The Annual Brain Health conference meeting in Philadelphia was recently. I had the chance to study the key speaker’s presentation by Dr. Jordan.

At the meeting, we had learned the new technology and treatment of many brain disorders. There are an estimated 68 million people who die each year as a result of neuropathy. Today, many amazing technologies that have come to age and provide us with such advanced therapy.

According to Dr. Justin Jordan, the professor and clinical director at Harvard University Medical School, since the 1990s, stroke patients have often received a traditional treatment as tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) to dissolve the brain clot during the trauma, who make it to the hospital not soon enough. But today, the advanced engineering technology is able for us to save some lives even if stroke patients delay the TPA treatment.

The increasing genetic tools and technological tools made great improvements and [have given] much hope such as deep brain stimulation. The technology entering effectively treating disorders such as epilepsy, multiple chlorosis (MS), Parkinson’s, dystonia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Neurological disorder is treated better with genetic and targeted on the patients who have identified a problem called calcitonin gene-related peptide (OGRP) which protein causes a migraine, new antibodies can stop that happening.

However, with new advances and treatment, brain health will get healthier. With, getting healthier brains, the increasing that the genetic tools and technological tools allowed us to do more, and give us high hope. With God willing, we will make great stems the future of neurology.
