The Cruise

By Ruth Rossi, April 17, 2019 — My daughter took me on a cruise for my 70th birthday. She gave me my choice. A week in Atlantic City, going to the shows and gambling, a little this and that with the crew, and I said, “I don’t wanna go to Atlantic City,” so she took me on a cruise. I told her when we got back, “The nicest part of that trip was that I had you all to myself.” For a whole week. That was the nicest part of the trip. But, I enjoyed that trip. They had a rope ladder nailed to something. On the ship, there was a place you could go and sit up there and look around and get the sun on your back. And I was so proud of myself. I climbed up that rope ladder! Stepped off at the top. There was somebody there, they took my hand, and I climbed back down it. And I thought, “That’s not bad for a 70-year-old!”
