Substitute Teachers

By Cynthia Morihara, December 31, 2020 — Well, in Lower Merion [Pennsylvania], I remember one time when the substitute teacher was there, everybody got up to sharpen their pencil, and they stood in a big line. They just kept standing up and they just kept sharpening and sharpening. They were trying to get away with it, you know? And another person told me that one time in his band class, every child got in front of the wrong instrument, and when the band conductor was trying to conduct, it sounded terrible.
