My Dream Come True

By Sharon T. Reed, May 14, 2019 — One of the best days of my life happened when I was 9 years old. I loved to ride my bike. Well, at this stage of my life, I needed and wanted a new, faster, and bigger bike. I had outgrown my tattered red bike. My bike was sort of small and couldn’t pick up the speed I wanted. It was my second two-wheeler.

My parents were working hard and paying bills; food, shelter, clothing, etc. Therefore, I knew they couldn’t afford to buy me a new bike. There were also four other children to take care of but at age 9, I still wanted and prayed for a new bike. My birthday was coming soon but I felt that a bike was too expensive for me to ask my parents to buy. Therefore, I would hope, pray and dream about a big girl’s gray bike.

My birthday finally came and guess what I got? I got a gray, fast and beautiful brand new bike. I found out that day that dreams really do come true!! I thanked my parents, hugged and kissed them. Then, I got on my new, gray bike and rode around the neighborhood into the sunset.
