By Marion Merrick, January 5, 2015 — When I was pregnant, my mother made me the most beautiful bassinet; pink of course, as I was sure I was having a girl. Well, when my son Stanford, (my maiden name), was born, she hurriedly made a NEW bassinet in blue! As she had to rush to make it, she was forlorn that it was not as pretty as the pink one. She needn’t have worried because even as a newborn, my Stanford was too big for the bassinet!
