Mr. Fixit

By Ed Pinter, December 6, 2017 — In 1946 I purchased a 1934 Chrysler Airflow with low mileage.  At work I was a shop steward.  The US Congress was in session, and the Senate was to vote on FDR’s Minimum Wage Law.

As a shop steward, I with several union reps (five) were assigned to seek an audition with Pennsylvania senators to favor a new Minimum Wage Law.  We loaded six passengers in the Chrysler and headed for Washington DC and the US Senate.  The Pennsylvania senator was our target for our personal plea for a new minimum wage. The senator gave us a short interview to plead our case.  He said he would consider the request and act upon the vote accordingly and the voting came at 10PM.
