By Albert Ruth, April 15, 2019 — It was 1960, the first day of 7th grade at East Paterson Middle School. I was excited for the new school year. I walked into homeroom and immediately froze. I saw the most beautiful girl that I had ever seen in my entire life, with the brightest blue eyes. That woman is your grandmother. It was love at first sight…for me. I had to woo her for months before she would fall for me. I asked her out over and over again until finally she agreed to go on a date with me. After that one date, we completely fell for each other. Still, to this day, she is the love of my life…my middle school sweetheart.
