Maria’s Refusal to Enter in a Mystical Trance

By Jose Dominguez, June 27, 2019 — Several times I have [said] my wife used to be a very intense person. At the same time she was a very serious Catholic. In her last 5 years of [her] life, she was experiencing profound mystical states. She didn’t like it because sometimes it occurred in public. I will tell you about a Catholic retreat for married couples that happened at El Paso, Texas three years before she passed away.

As usual in those retreats, the participants were invited at the end to make a line to receive the Holy Spirit. For that purpose in front of the altar, there was a line of 6 ministers facing the public and the participants were walking towards the altar by the central line. When they arrived to the altar, they were ushered to the next minister available so the invocation started with prayers and the minister putting his hands over the participant’s head, they asked him to open his hearts so the Holy Spirit will enter.

What happened was that the floor was covered with participants that fainted but were assisted in the floor by several attendances he invited her to pray for the Holy Spirit. Mister MacDonald, the facilitator, noticed something special in Maria and when her turn arrived. Maria accepted, but I noticed that Mr. MacDonald was trying too hard to put Maria in trance. She was trembling but her eyes never closed until Mr. MacDonald said, “Be with God, Sister. The next, please.” After that, she told me, “Let’s go, I’m going to faint. Mr. MacDonald tried to put me in a trance, but I only do it when it is irresistible to me, I do not look for that condition, it only happens, even when I do not want to. Let’s go home.”
