Living Alone

By Eleanor Kazdan, November 5, 2020 — I was young in the late ’60s, everybody was dying to live on their own. It didn’t matter [if the place was] rat-infested, cockroach-infested, we just wanted to get out of our parents’ house. When my son was that age, I was like, why doesn’t he want to do that? What the heck, he wants to keep living with us? So, it was a generational difference, but that would be a good topic. But in the late ’60s, people would be very embarrassed if they were still living with their parents like it wasn’t cool at all.
