Little Bundle of Joy

By Margie Servidio, October 5, 2019 — My name is Margaret Elizabeth Servidio. I just turned eighty years old and I am a grandmother to [a] beautiful young woman. One of the best days of my life was when I had [her] father. My only son. I was only about 27 years old at the time and I was nervous. [When] he was a baby [he was] only about eight pounds … no, five pounds. I was scared since he was so small he had to stay in the hospital for a little while longer. They put him in some sort of device, I think it’s called an incubator. I remember the nurses were telling me to reach a certain weight for me to take him home. The thought of him not being able to come home with me was terrifying. I think it was about a week or so when I was finally able to bring him home. I felt so overjoyed at the moment. It was the most wonderful experience getting to carry him out of the hospital healthy. Your grandpa and I were so in love with him and we still are. When we first walked into the house we were living in at the time in Clifton with him, everything felt so warm. All of our friends and family came to visit, and they brought a bunch of gifts and goodies to the house. That was truly one of the best days of my life.
