Important Activities

By José Dominiguez, May 7, 2020 — I think that this situation [COVID-19 Crisis] is only limiting some of my activities; not the most important activities. I have been working with my family on a lot of things that I think very enjoyable, for example, I increase my activity with puppets. I play with my granddaughter using puppets, so I am a kind of expert. I’ve been working with conversations with my granddaughter. And then I also combine watercolor with pop-ups and I made a very nice pop-up for a birthday. I am combining some activities, and working with paper and watercolor.
Also, I’m doing a lot of reading. I met a very nice author, an American author Pearl S. Buck. And I find it very very interesting. But the most important thing I think is to be with myself, like imagine my ignorance in many ways. For example, in relation to watercolor, I found that I have to know more how to work on techniques, ways to improve my skills.
And that’s it! But for me it’s not a big deal, nothing special, I think. I enjoy silence. I enjoy working with myself. So I am taking advantage of that. Of course, I miss my friends, and as soon as I can, I am able to walk, I’ll go to the senior center to say hello to everybody. It’s a nice experience that I will take near to my heart. And that’s it.

Which day was my best day? The day that I finished my pop-up with my watercolor to send it to my brother. I think it was a really nice experience for me to find different ways to put together the the pop-up skills and the watercolor skills.
