I Really Could Not Run

By Frances Bryce, September 3, 2020 — I just wanted to say this about running. I remember when I found out I really could not run. I could do a lot of things. I was in high school and we were having a high school meet and our neighborhood was a small town, but this was a small town, and I was gonna run because I could run better than most of the kids in the class, which meant they couldn’t run at all. So we got ready to run and I was on the block, and before I could get off the block the girls from the other school were way down the line. So that ended even my desire to take up running. I was not a runner. I could do a lot of other things, but running wasn’t that. Tennis doesn’t require you to do long-distance running, so I do that.
