By Donald Smith Denville, March 24, 2019 — In the one year my wife and I dated before getting married, I often would stay over on her couch in the apartment she shared with her friend. It was the first time I stayed over that I woke up in a panic. The church a few blocks up the street sets off fireworks after every Sunday mass. When I heard the fireworks I was reminded of my service in the Korean War. I instinctually jumped up off the couch and took cover to only find out from Mrs. B that the explosive noise was only fireworks.
