Candy Crush Halloween

By Carolyn Boston, October 24, 2019 — Halloween was a special event in my family. My mother would decorate the dining room table and it became a candy land strewn with every candy. My sister and I loved including gingersnap cookies and candy corn. The table was overloaded with Snickers bars, Clark bars, Three Musketeers, and tiny packets of M&Ms. Oh, and lets NEVER forget the most important of all – Hershey Bars and Hershey kisses (which I totally overdosed on). My favorite, Yum!

My mother taught my sister and I how to make red and caramel candied apples. My sister liked the caramel, but the red was my absolute favorite. It looked like a big red ruby on a stick. Just before it got too dark, my dad took us “Trick or Treating.” I don’t remember dressing up as a character. I DO remember we’d always come home overloaded with all types of candy.
