Cancer Free

By Joan Romaniello, October 7, 2019 — About 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was an awful time in my life, but it had the best ending. I woke up very nervous to go to the doctors, as I was every single time I went. Prior to this visit, one of my lungs had been removed because the doctors felt this was the only way to remove all of the tumor. So, this visit was different, I would find out if the cancer was still there or that they were able to remove everything fully. Terrified of the words that would come out of my doctor’s mouth, he told me, “everything is out, your cancer is gone.” I have never felt more relieved than when I heard these words. This day I found out I was cancer free.
