Where Elizabeth Worked

By Elizabeth Wolfe, July 26, 2017 — I worked for an investment broker, and that was way before they had digital stuff. It would come over a tape and we would have to climb up and change everything by hand. Then I became a travel type operator. I left in 1972. I loved it. We all became family & I didn’t work for a long time after my son was born. Then I had to go back to work because my husband got sick  & then I became a CNA and worked 13 years at Fairview Manor and retired at 62. I would have loved to work longer, but my doctor made me stop working.

I remember working at the nursing home and seeing people with Alzheimer’s come in. One day they were fine, and then two weeks later they were so bad they didn’t know anything or who you were. Now my husband is in Pleasant View Manor with Alzheimer’s after I cared for him for many years at home. I could do this from what I learnt at my job at Fairview Manor.
