The View

I am so thankful for the view from my windows. If I look one way I can see all the way downtown—Millennium Park (when they do fireworks), Soldier Filed, and Navy Pier. I love it when they do fireworks on the 4th of July (and also the US Cellular ball park; they also do fireworks when they win a game).

I can see Provident Hospital from the second floor to the top. When the leaves all fall from the trees I will be able to see most of Washington Park. I can see the University of Chicago Hospital; it is interesting to see the emergency helicopters on top of the building at night. I can see all the tall buildings along the lake shore.

But the most spectacular view is the orange and bright yellow sun coming up in the morning. It is so beautiful. It lightens up everything. It seems to put a light cleansing glow on everything. When the sun comes up everything looks clean. Even as the birds fly into the sun rays, they glow from it. No wonder they sing so loud in the morning. When the sun’s first light appears, they wake me up most mornings. My guess is that the birds are expressing their view first thing in the morning. I remember I once went on the roof of my building and looked at all the birds flying around. It made me want to soar like a bird because they really have the best view of everything. What kind of view do you have?
