Repelling 14 Stories

By Frederick Kuzmin, August 9, 2017 — This was one of the strangest things I ever did. If you remember, people used to repel off the top of the Baldwin Building. It was about 1974. I went up to the roof and I made the mistake of looking over the edge. It was a 14-story building, the tallest building in Erie at the time. I had a helmet on and strapped to a harness. The people were telling me how to walk down the side of the building. About halfway down, I flipped upside down, and everyone was watching me, waiting for me to fall. I know that people were thinking they didn’t want it to happen, but it would be a lot cooler if it did! They explained to me how to turn myself right side up again. I was hanging upside down for 15 minutes. I only did it because I was dared to. I can always say I did it!
