Laughs on Me

One of the best times in my life was taking the Victoria clipper to Canada – my 12 year old son, my husband and I!! We went to Sea World – my being afraid of water meant that I stayed away from a very large pool with dolphins. Of course, as they leapt up in the pool, I got completely drenched! I was so mad at the audience and my family as they laughed!

– Part 2 –

We used to house sit for one of the older mothers who belonged to our church. We did this every Friday to Sunday morning, once she was house ridden. There was an old fold-up rollaway bed. As I was putting it down, it snapped up on me and I couldn’t get out. My husband and son had a really good laugh!

-Part 3 –

I was visiting my daughter-in-law in Seaside. We were on a nature path walking along when I heard my husband ahead of me telling the others to be quiet and not say anything. I looked down and saw a huge snake! I screamed and jumped over it! My heart almost stopped beating – another good laugh.

Facilitator’s Note: This week, Carmen joined us to share a few stories. As the title hints, in each story Carmen found herself the punchline of the situation. Isn’t it great how when we’re laughed at in the moment we tend to get angry or embarrassed, but when you look at those moments through retrospection, they really can make you laugh along with the others. Read on for some good laughs, courtesy of Carmen.
