Barb’s School Daze

By Barb Winkleman, June 28, 2017 — We had uniforms at Villa. They were tops and skirts made of wool with white blouses underneath. We had to use the same starch the nuns used on their habits on our blouses so the collars stood up straight.

I remember when we were at Villa Maria the classes were so large we had 2 grades in 1 class. Our class didn’t like the nun that taught our class (the one we liked was teaching a different class) so the entire class went on strike by sitting out in the hall. We thought we could get the nun we liked to teach our class instead. We all got disciplined and hurt the feelings of the nun teaching our class.
