A Trip to Malta

By Louisa Zerafa, January 30, 2019 — About twenty years ago, the family and I traveled to Malta. It was an amazing experience. We went during the summer, it was beautiful. The people there are breathtaking, all dressed in fancy clothes. The family and I even saw your great grandfather’s, my father’s, home. This is where they lived before moving to America and starting the rest of the family. We did not get to go inside, but I will never forget that house, or him. He was so strict. None of us would every stand up to him except for my brother, Joe, who was a troublemaker. I was a prisoner of love with that man. Anyways, we spent most our time touring all the churches. These were so exquisite. One thing that has me speechless today is in one church, there is an undetonated bomb from World War II. Just this massive chunk of metal sitting right in the middle of the church. It is a real miracle that this church is still there.

We also got to try the Maltese cookies that I always bake for everyone. Let me tell you, they were delicious, but do not beat mine. The whole trip was surreal. It shows you that family is all that matters. I just want to get everyone to go back before it is too late. You and all the young kids in the family need to see where we are from and experience how beautiful it is over there. You need to do these things while you are all young and can enjoy them.
