A Change

This is about something that happened in my life. So far everything has changed because I know better. I was a drunk. There are 365 days in a year. Every day that passed by I drank because I wanted to be a part of something (even though I wasn’t really a part of anything). I thought my friends cared about me, but I found out differently (so I went a different way).

I didn’t have to go to all kinds of programs because I got sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time. I learned that I could not beat the bottle. I lost my brothers (due to complications with drinking) and my sister (due to cancer). I also looked to my children and knew that it was time to stop. So I gave it up and it has now been 25 plus years since I have had any mind altering chemicals in my body. Thank be to God! And the best part of it all was my mother having the chance to see me as a changed person.
